Following a multi-million-dollar transformation of all guest rooms and public spaces, Renaissance Hotels has unveiled the Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel.
The 97-room property located in the heart of Paris' historic 1st arrondissement was reimagined by Didier Gomez Interior Design.
“Today’s announcement reaffirms our commitment to strengthening our portfolio of artfully designed properties in destinations such as Paris, where our guests are seeking unscripted travel experiences,” John Licence, VP of premium and select brands Europe for Marriott International, said in a statement. “Each Renaissance hotel is an open invitation to discover the local neighborhood, employing different design principles to introduce a sense of theatricality and the local scene to our guests. This design strategy is particularly evident in our portfolio of six Parisian Renaissance hotels; each a unique interpretation of the locality.”
The property, tucked away on a quiet street between the Tuileries Garden and the boutiques of Rue Saint-Honoré, is inspired by the fashion designers and jewelers that have long had their salons in the neighborhood.
Contrasting eighteenth-century style with contemporary design, the hotel seeks to convey the softness and elegance that is reflective of today’s Parisian aesthetic. That effort includes creatively layered patterns and textures throughout the hotel’s interiors and guestrooms featuring striking art pieces of French feminine style that playfully wrap the ceiling.
The hotel’s transformation is anchored by the stylish cocktail bar and restaurant Balagan, which isa joint venture between The Experimental Group and acclaimed Israeli Chef Assaf Granit.
Balagan’s décor was custom- designed by Dorothée Meilichzon to reflect the spectrum of blues and earthy colors of the coast. The menu meanwhile focuses on fresh and seasonal dishes indicative of the culinary richness of the Mediterranean. Balagan’s adjoining bar serves up imaginative cocktails in a warm boudoir atmosphere.
“We want to encourage curiosity and reframe our guests’ stay through an indigenous lens that leaves them inspired,” Pierre-Henri Perrin, the hotel’s general manager, said. “Through its contemporary design and a kaleidoscope of signature experiences, Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel is perfect for those who value the unexpected and seek the unconventional in their travels.”
The hotel’s buzzy Le Studio lobby lounge is slated to host locally-inspired events that showcase emerging talent in music, the arts, mixology, and gastronomy.
The property will also have an on-hand navigator, who knows the destination’s hidden gems and can handpick local discoveries not found in guidebooks.
And because the needs of the next-generation of travelers are never far from any hotelier’s mind these days, the property has been designed with keyless room entry through the Marriot Mobile App.
